Imaging

Diagnostic imaging involves a variety of medical imaging techniques. Complex equipment with powerful computers are used to produce images of the inside of a patient's body. These images assist in the diagnosis and treatment of illness. Radiographers obtain radiographic images, Sonographers perform ultrasound examinations and nuclear medicine technologists are trained to acquire functional images of the body.

All images are viewed and analysed by a Radiologist, a doctor who specialises in diagnostic imaging. You can be assured that they play a vital role in assisting your referring doctor with the diagnosis of your condition. The radiologist views the pictures taken by the medical imaging technologist, who then writes a report and/or telephones your referring doctor to discuss the significance of the test results.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have. If you have any concerns or require further information please speak with our clinical staff.
