Billing Policy

VHMI’s private fees are based on the high quality of technology and professional service offered. These prices are higher than the Medicare schedule fee and as a result there are out-of-pocket payments for some procedures. The schedule fee does not accurately reflect the costs of performing high quality radiology procedures. Despite continued rises in costs, our fee increases have been contained within inflation and cost of living adjustments as measured by the Consumer Price Index.

All patients are encouraged to settle their accounts on the day of service.

Fees charged by VHMI are consistent with providing high quality, diagnostic imaging services. Fees vary between imaging modalities and patients can request the cost of their examination when making an appointment. Private patients will pay a gap beyond the Medicare refund. We accept credit card, cheque or cash, and provide EFTPOS facilities to facilitate full settlement of accounts on the day of service.

Medicare cover for pensioners

Pensioners and Health Care Card holders will be discounted from full private fees. Please present your entitlement card on arrival at the clinic.
